Police warn against dangerous laser light pointed at aircraft in Nadi and Nausori

The Fiji Police Force is again warning members of the public to stop the dangerous practice of pointing laser lights at aircrafts, as it puts the lives of all those on board at risk.

Police say despite repeated requests and warnings, the issue continues to be raised by tower operators, of instances of laser lights directed at incoming aircraft during their descent in Nausori and Nadi.

Police say it is difficult to identify those involved, as the incidents are only seen by pilots mid-air and reported afterwards. They are also urging members of the public to report those involved in this dangerous practice by calling the nearest police station, 917 or Crime Stoppers on 919.
