Police to monitor firecracker use
With the use of firecrackers now being allowed from this hour police will be out monitoring.

Chief of Operations Officer ACP Rusiate Tudravu said the last action police wants to do is take in anyone for not following the law.

He said the officers will be closely monitoring movement and activities of people to ensure an accident free Diwali.

People have been allowed to use fireworks from 5pm till midnight tonight. 

According to Ministry of Defense anyone caught using fireworks outside this time frame can be fined $400 or face maximum 6 months imprisonment.
