Police are expected to make arrests and charge those involved in an assault in Labasa that went viral on social media.

The video shows a man repeatedly punching a youth.

Acting Commissioner of Police, Aporosa Lutunauga has directed an immediate investigation into the incident.

He says the police team in Labasa has been instructed to investigate and bring in everyone involved.

The Acting Commissioner stressed that a dispute does not give anyone the right to physically assault another person.

Lutunauga further says that everyone in the video will be brought in for questioning.

He adds that the video portrays a sad reality of a community that resorts to violence to address issues.

The Acting Commissioner confirms that the video evidence is already available and that the victim’s medical examination has been completed.
