Police are currently on standby to assist people during this continuous rain, and teams in all Police Stations are on standby if the need arises.
Assistant Commissioner for Police Operations (ACPO) Livai Driu says the Weather Office has issued a heavy rain alert for the whole of Fiji, and people in flood prone areas should continue to remain vigilant.
ACP Driu says people should exercise caution because anything can happen.
He further says their operations will be coordinated through the Police Command and Coordination Centre (PCCC) in Suva.
ACP Driu reminds the public that safety starts with individuals and also made an assurance that their teams are on standby, ready to assist if anything happens.
ACP Driu says Police will continue to monitor the weather and the situation on the ground as they develop.
