Police are expected to question the mother of the 23-year-old tertiary school student who died in a road accident near Namau along the Nabouwalu Highway on Sunday night.
The student was a passenger in the vehicle driven by her mother who is still admitted in hospital with two others as investigations continue.
According to Police, the four people were heading towards the Nabouwalu Jetty when the mother allegedly lost control of the vehicle causing it to veer off the road and tumble several times.
Police say they were all rushed to the Nabouwalu Hospital where the woman was pronounced dead on arrival.
The national road death toll currently stands at 36 compared to 55 for the same period last year.
