The driver who was allegedly involved in the hit and run accident in Raiwaqa on the 8th of this month which left a 31-year-old man in a coma has been questioned and released.

Police say they are still investigating the matter.

The victim, Sunia Koroi is still fighting for his life in the Intensive Care Unit at the CWM Hospital.

Koroi’s brother, Taniela Tikoiserene has told Legend FM News that Koroi was trying to cross the road when he was allegedly hit by the taxi.

He claims the taxi driver did not stop after the incident and his brother was taken to the hospital with the assistance of neighbours.

Tikoiserene says the whole family is still in a state of shock and they are trying to come to terms with what has happened.

He says they are just praying and hoping that Koroi gets well as soon as possible.
