Police operations continue every night in the heart of the capital city

As Police operations continue every night in the heart of the capital city, we have received confirmation that Police Officers went into a few nightclubs to arrest a few people causing trouble over the weekend.

Fijivillage witnessed people being taken out of the nightclubs by officers.

Those who refused to leave the nightclubs after being directed have been charged with disobedience of lawful order.

Meanwhile Police arrested three people on Friday night for an alleged aggravated robbery case along Victoria Parade.

The three allegedly grabbed a university student and tried to steal items when they were confronted by the Police K9 unit.

The three were arrested by the K9 and Police Special Response Unit and taken to the station where they are now being questioned.

There were 7 drunk and disorderly cases and 3 drunk and incapable cases. All these people are in custody.

There were 2 cases of loitering, 2 cases of obstruction and 2 cases of disobedience of lawful order.

Heavy Police presence will continue every night.

Fijivillage also witnessed Police officers telling loiterers to go home. These people who normally hang around at night are also seen as opportunists who prey on vulnerable people coming out of the nightclubs.
