Police officers need to pass a standard fitness test for promotion
Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho

All Police officers now need to pass a standard fitness test to be considered for a promotion in the Fiji Police Force.

Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho has confirmed this saying this is one of the criteria for promotion as he cannot be pushing for health and well-being at his level and have leaders who cannot achieve the same standards.

He says the required fitness test for all Police officers is similar to what the Military is doing.

He says this is also a requirement for officers who are deployed overseas for UN peacekeeping missions as he does not want officers to suffer heart attacks.

Qiliho says the health and well-being of his officers is his concern and it is not something that will stop his officers from achieving things.

The Police Commissioner says this is not something that has been brought from the Military.
