Police officer charged with possession of marijuana to appear in Suva court tomorrow

A police officer who was found with 6037 branches of dried leaves believed to be marijuana at his home is charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs and will appear at the Suva Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Police say the dried leaves were tested and confirmed to be cannabis sativa.

They say the officer has been charged and is currently in police custody.

The Fiji Police Force has assured the public that no one is above the law, and they will continue to take action against any officers involved in illegal activities.
