Police now investigating soccer players who had tested positive for drug use

Police have confirmed they are now investigating the reports raised by the Fiji Football Association of players testing positive for marijuana.

Fiji FA CEO Mohammed Yusuf says Police have enquired with them and they are assisting Police in regards to the information they need.

Four soccer players have tested positive for marijuana use so far this year.

Two tested positive in the Vodafone Premier League over the weekend.

Yusuf has confirmed that both players are first-time offenders and have been suspended for 3 months.

He also says that both players and their clubs have been fined $200 each.

Two players had tested positive for drug use during the Punjas BOG tournament.
