Police monitor condition of remand prisoner
Police are closely monitoring the condition of a remand prisoner who attempted to hurt himself while appearing before the Suva High Court earlier this week.

Spokesperson Theresa Ralogaivau said that Josaia Koroinavosa on Tuesday, was on trial in the High Court for a case of Aggravated Robbery when he hurt himself with a razor blade.

He is currently admitted at the CWM Hospital and is in a stable condition.

Meanwhile, remand prison cell officers are being interviewed in an effort to determine how Koroinavosa got hold of a razor blade.

Body checks are also being done to ensure the incident doesn’t happen again.
