Police are investigating a possible child negligence case after the death of a 1-year-old child in Ba yesterday.
Deputy Divisional Police Commander, Senior Superintendent of Police Aisake Kafoa says the post-mortem for the 1-year-old girl was conducted today.
The child drowned in Koroboya River a few metres away from her home.
She was found floating in the river by a relative.
The child was rushed to the Ba Aspen Hospital where she was unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival.
36 people have drowned so far this year compared to 40 in the same period last year.
