Quick action by Police this morning led to an early morning intercept by the Nabua Quick Response Team which resulted in the arrest of two men and two women allegedly found with white substances believed to be methamphetamine.

Divisional Police Commander South, Senior Superintendent of Police Wate Vocevoce says the four were stopped at a roadblock in Vatuwaqa, where the driver allegedly failed to produce his drivers license and drove off.

SSP Vocevoce says the suspect’s vehicle was involved in an accident along Brown Street where the team from Nabua searched the vehicle and found several small plastic bags containing white substances believed to be methamphetamine.

Arrested were the driver of the vehicle who works in Nadi, a 27-year-old woman from Sabeto, a 25-year-old man and 26-year-old woman both from Suvavou.

The seized substances have been sent for analysis as investigations continue while the suspects remain in custody at the Totogo Police Station.

Meanwhile, in a raid in Tacilevu Hills in the Northern Division led to the seizure of close to 400 plants believed to be marijuana.

Divisional Police Commander North Senior Superintendent of Police Kemueli Baledrokadroka says the discovery and seizure is a positive outcome of efforts to disrupt the sale, and distribution of the illicit drug.

SSP Baledrokadroka adds community support is crucial in the war against all forms of illicit drugs, and is thankful for the assistance of community leaders and those who continue to share information about those involved in the illegal trade.
