Police identify suspect in violent robbery at 24-hour Nausori shop

Police have identified the individual involved in the Shirleen Investment robbery in Nausori and will be making an arrest soon.

Video footage shows the suspect forcefully jumping onto the front counter at Shirleen Investment, assaulting the cashier, and fleeing with more than $400.

The cashier is still coming to terms with the robbery that took place at her workplace.

Suman Lata says she sustained minor injuries after being punched in the face and struck on the wrist while trying to chase the robber.

Lata says the customer had entered the shop twice earlier, apparently scoping the premises, before ordering a bottle of juice and then forcefully jumping onto the counter.

She has called for increased police patrols, as the business operates 24 hours a day to serve the public.

Police say their search for the suspect is ongoing as investigations continue.
