Police identify man who posted false brutality claims involving death of 17yr-old

Police have identified a person residing in New Zealand as the source of the false brutality claims that went viral on social media about Police being allegedly involved in the death of a 17-year-old boy a week ago.

Acting Chief of Operations Maretino Qiolevu says that no one has been charged as yet.

Qiolevu says that they are continuing with their investigation as there were others who were involved in the circulation of the false claim.

ACP Rusiate Tudravu had earlier said that the extent to which some self‑centered social media users have used the death of a 17‑year‑old for political gain and bring disrepute to the Fiji Police Force is extremely disturbing and shows that there are some people who will stoop so low for personal gain.
