Police Director Internal Affairs charged with abuse of office

Police Director Internal Affairs, Acting Senior Superintendent of Police, Mohammed Talib Khan has been charged with abuse of office.

Director of Public Prosecutions, Christopher Pryde has sanctioned the charges against Khan.

It is alleged that on 13th April 2017 in Suva, Khan as the Acting Superintendent of Police directed the unlawful arrest and detention of a person, in abuse of the authority of his office and which was an arbitrary act.

The matter will be called today in the Suva Magistrates Court.
