Super 7s Series champions Police Blue kicked off their 16th Fiji Bitter Wairiki 7s on high after thrashing St Somosomo 29-0.

Police Blue have the services of former Fiji 7s reps including Keponi Paul, Livai Ikanikoda and Rusiate Matai.

Looking at other results, Wardens Gold won by default against Red Prawn Rugby, BLK Lavidi Brothers won by default against Nakavu Rugby, Police White beat Veilomani Brothers 19-12, Somosomo Sharks thrashed Combine Service 26-0, and Tagova Babas beat Sydney Tiliva Bukuya 12-7.

Looking at the U21 results, New Dawn 1 beat Southern Babas 24-14, Greensand Mawi thumped Davetalevu Babas 17-0, Aloha Taveuni 1 beat St Peter Navawakau 20-14, Qeleni Young Boys thrashed Ucunivatu Rugby 38-0, Aloha Taveuni 2 beat St Mary Somosomo 21-7, AJ Pallets Ba River lost to Northern Sharks 12-7, Raiwasa Taveuni edged Kingdom Brothers 19-12, Nuku beat Aqua Pro Savuiqali 7-0, and Village Boys thrashed Naselesele Blues 31-0.

The Women’s competition will start tomorrow, while the U21 and Men’s pool games will also continue tomorrow.

The finals will be held on Saturday.

The Wairiki 7s is held at the Wairiki Grounds in Taveuni.
