Not following the game plan was one of the reasons the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua went down 27-24 to the Highlanders last Saturday in the Super Rugby Pacific.

Coach Mick Byrne says they started well in the first half, however, their execution in the second half did not go the way they wanted.

He says they had twice as many kicks in the first 20 minutes of the second half as the players went away from their intended game plan.

Bryne says if they had executed well in the second half, they could have scored more tries.

The Fijian Drua meet the Hurricanes at 3.35pm Sunday.
