Chief Operations Officer Seru Soderberg.

The Water Authority of Fiji says it has a plan to build another 20 million litres Water Treatment Plant in Tamavua by 2022.

Chief Operations Officer Seru Soderberg says this will provide them with the opportunity to maintain reservoir levels in Tamavua and continuously maintain water supply to those in the Suva-Nausori corridor.

He says they are working on a tender for the project and that is expected to be out at the end of next month.

Soderberg says they are seeking bids from reputable companies for the supply, installation and operation of the new water treatment plant.

He has revealed that the full cost is around 13 million dollars and it is funded by the government.

Soderberg says the common idea out there is that when it rains there should be more water but for them that is not the case.
