The Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says he will be looking into the concerns about why the licenses of Labasa market vendors that sell tobacco will not be renewed.

At a Budget Consultation in Labasa, Sayed-Khaiyum was told by a representative of the market vendors Dhiren Chand that they were told by the Health Ministry and the District Office their licences will not be renewed.

Chand says this was because he delayed the payment of the renewal fees but he was unaware of the change in the dates.

Sayed-Khaiyum told the vendors that he will not be able to do something immediately but he would be looking into the matter.
