People living in Nausori, Nasinu and Suva affected by water supply disruptions

Tens of thousands of people living in parts of Nausori, Nasinu and Suva are experiencing water supply disruptions this morning after a burst bulk main at the Waila Water Treatment Plant.

The Water Authority of Fiji says this burst bulk main feeds treated water from the Waila Water Treatment Plant to the Wainibuku main distribution reservoir.

Ground teams conducted repairs overnight and this is anticipated to be completed later this morning.

The Water Authority of Fiji says water restoration will start moments after the repairs are completed and water supply is expected to normalise by 6 o’clock tomorrow morning.

Affected areas include Koronivia, Davuilevu, Wainibuku Road, Naulu, Nakasi, Makoi, Nepani, Narere, Navosai, Valelevu, Nadawa, Ratu Dovi Road, Nadera, Caubati, Kinoya, Tacirua, Dokanaisuva, Colo-i-Suva, Laucala Beach, Raiwaqa, Raiwai, Nasese, Flagstaff, Victoria Parade and Knolly Street.

Most of these areas have not received any water since last night.
