Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says that people can expect a responsible budget next week and has labeled National Federation Party Leader, Professor Biman Prasad’s comments that it will just be an election budget, as a ridiculous statement.
Sayed-Khaiyum says that government is focused on building a strong Fiji which means a strong economic base.
He says they have spoken to every Fijian and they want the same thing which is improved living conditions.
Sayed-Khaiyum says the job of the current government is to be able to provide an enabling environment but the Opposition wants to undermine all of that.
Meanwhile Professor Prasad maintains that the government will have an election budget.
Sayed-Khaiyum will deliver the 2018/2019 National Budget at 7.30pm next Thursday.
