Minister for Home Affairs Pio Tikoduadua

The biggest thing is that people have always been questioning the confidence of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces in the Government.

Minister for Home Affairs, Pio Tikoduadua stated this when questioned by the media on the message the visit by the Prime Minister to the Queen Elizabeth Barracks sends to the public.

Tikoduadua says the visit is in no small way a great measure of that.

He says they have set up a pathway in terms of going forward and he believes that people should be assured that democracy works in Fiji

The Minister says like any relationship they have to build on it and trust is something they have to work at.

He says the Prime Minister’s visit is something they have been planning from when he went to Queen Elizabeth Barracks more than six months ago.

Tikoduadua says this is an early Christmas gift for the people of Fiji.
