A 36-year-old pastor of Hindi Christian Fellowship in Nausori facing rape charges has been remanded in custody.
Ravinesh Chand is charged with 3 counts of rape and 1 count each of indecent and sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl.
The alleged incidents happened last Thursday.
The prosecution has objected to bail by saying that this is a case of breach of trust and it is also an indictable offence.
Defence lawyer Jiten Reddy says that if granted bail, his client will relocate to Labasa adding it will take away the fear of interference with prosecution witnesses.
It was heard in court today that Chand has a previous conviction from 2007 for impersonation.
Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne will deliver his bail ruling tomorrow.
