The Fiji Roads Authority says to fix the Samabula Pedestrian crossing lights, they will need to upprocure parts from overseas.
Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Moore says the parts that are in use are quite old and obtaining them are quite difficult.
He says the parts may come in December.
FRA has put up signages on the Samabula Pedestrian Crossing Light poles to warn pedestrians and motorists that the lights are not working.
These lights have not been working for quite some time now.
Children have been seen running across the road guessing that the road is safe to cross.
These lights need to work in order to indicate to pedestrians when it is safe to cross the road.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Moore says there is a need for more traffic lights in various parts of Suva.
He says this will help reduce traffic congestion in the City and will be good for the pedestrians too.
