Parents told to clear all outstanding school levies

Parents told to clear all outstanding school levies
The Education Ministry has stressed that parents will need to make arrangements with schools to clear off all outstanding school levies for 2013.

This is after some school managements told parents to clear off the outstanding fees or students will not be allowed in classes tomorrow.

Education Minister Filipe Bole said it is the duty of the parents to clear off outstanding fees.

Meanwhile, the Ministry has reiterated that schools have been told not to send any student home for outstanding fees and parents need to make arrangements with the respective school to pay off the dues.

Permanent Secretary for Education Dr. Brij Lal said all grants for this year have been paid out to all the eligible schools to ensure that everything is ready before classes resume.

He said all schools should open today and students are to begin classes tomorrow.
