There have been concerns raised by parents on the poor security and surveillance at the Fiji National University hostel at Brown Street in Suva where one of the students was robbed last week, however, the matter hasn't been lodged with the Police as the parents feel this issue is being swept under the carpet.

The concerned parent said the girls from the hostel are now afraid to go to the washroom at night as they fear being robbed or worse, being sexually molested by robbers.

She says students are supposed to feel safe and secure in the place where they go to study.

We have sent questions to FNU and Police regarding this issue.

They are yet to respond.
