Director of the Fiji Higher Education Commission, Eci Naisele has revealed before a Parliamentary Standing Committee meeting today that Pacific Polytech and ServicePro International Tourism Hospitality Institute applied for education grants but did not meet the requirements.

He made the comments after Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Affairs member, Parveen Bala asked for the names of institutions that were not recommended by the Higher Education Commission but still received funds.

Polytech was allocated $7 million while ServicePro International Tourism Hospitality Institute was allocated $195,652 in the 2025/2026 National Budget.

We have sent questions to both institutes and the Ministry of Finance.
