Pacific Games: Gold up for grabs for Men’s and Women’s hockey team

The Team Fiji Men’s hockey side are through to the final after beating Vanuatu 1-0 in a penalty shoot out at the Pacific Games.

Fiji was leading 1-0 at the break, but Vanuatu managed to get one back in the second half to end the game in a 1-all draw.

The game went into penalty shoot out where Fiji managed to clinch the win.

The Men’s final will be at 2.10pm tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the women’s team are also through to the finals after defeating PNG 3-0.

The Women’s final will be at 1.20pm tomorrow.

Fiji is still in 5th place in the overall Pacific Games medal tally with 15 gold, 20 silver and 29 bronze.

New Caledonia is leading with 70 gold, 44 silver and 45 bronze while Australia is in second place with 42 gold, 20 silver and 8 bronze.
