Papua New Guinea's National Capital District Commission is out to stop graffiti artists in Port Moresby.

From the end of next week all importers, distributors and retailers of spray paint cans in the city will be asked to stop trading.

The Commission has issued a notice cancelling all trade licences for such products.

Property owners are also being ordered to clean or repaint their fences and walls if they have graffiti on them.

This imposes a penalty of K10,000 or three year imprisonment.
