There is no threat to iTaukei land and Christianity.

Those are the comments of Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama while opening the Nakadi/ Tauli access road in Navuso, Naitasiri, today.

Bainimarama highlighted that some politicians who are standing against him, have accused him of weakening the protection of iTaukei land and weakening the position of the Christian churches in Fiji.

He said these are lies and they are simply not true.

The Prime Minister said it says in black and white in the constitution that no iTaukei land can be taken away permanently.

He said another lie these would be politicians are spreading is that there is a threat to Christianity because Fiji is now a secular state.

Bainimarama said the government treats every religion equally.

More than 30 farming families now have access to a road that links them to schools, hospitals, markets and other government services that are available in Nausori and Suva.

The cost of the new Nakadi/ Tauli access road is $94,000.
