PM says some political parties show lack of leadership
Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said that some political parties are showing a lack of leadership in the country.

Bainimarama who was the chief guest at the Natabua High School Cadet Pass out Parade earlier today told the students that these leaders are not setting good examples.

He said these people are making comments which leaders should not be making in public.

The Prime Minister has called on the students to show leadership qualities and set good examples for the other students to follow.

Meanwhile Bainimarama leaves for New Zealand today to hold FijiFirst campaign meetings this weekend.

Radio NZ reports that Bainimarama is due to make a campaign speech in Auckland, and host a dinner for business people interested in investing in Fiji.

His supporters said it is a private visit paid for by FijiFirst, after which he will go to Australia to meet the Fiji community there.

Bainimarama is not expected to have official meetings with New Zealand Government representatives.

NZ Prime Minister John Key said he was comfortable with the visit, which follows the removal of travel sanctions earlier this year. Foreign Affairs Minister Murray McCully confirmed that there will be a basic level of facilitation for Bainimarama’s arrival and departure.
