PM confirms unofficial complaint received regarding Corrections Commissoner’s wife’s hiring
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and Fiji Corrections Commissioner, Dr. Jalesi Nakarawa

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka confirms receiving an informal complaint regarding the employment of Fiji Corrections Commissioner, Dr. Jalesi Nakarawa's wife, as a nurse at one of the Corrections Service centres.

Rabuka says when the complaint comes to him officially then the Constitutional Offices Commission can look at the issue.

In an interview with fijivillage News, the Fiji Corrections Service Commissioner says the vacancy was advertised and his wife decided to apply for it.

Dr Nakarawa says she went through the selection process and he had nothing to do with the appointment.

When asked if he is under investigation regarding this matter, he says he is unsure about it.

Dr Nakarawa says two weeks ago the FICAC officers came in with a search warrant as they wanted to see the interview folder and since then he has not been contacted.
