The day has come, and expectations are that the Digicel Fiji 7's team will open their 2011 Hong Kong 7's campaign against Malaysia on a high note tonight.
Last night the team's morale was further boosted when the Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama visited the team in their hotel room to hand the players with their jumpers for this weekend.
In a moving speech to the players, Commodore Bainimarama called on Captain Dale Tonawai to lead by example and for his troops to lay their bodies on the line for their nation.
He stressed the importance of the Hong Kong 7's to Fiji and her people and that this year is to be Fiji's year in Hong Kong.
He also stressed the importance of discipline and teamwork during the tournament.
Manager Talemo Waqa said that the players know that the moment of truth has arrived where they will be tested by some of their own brothers who will be part of the opposition.
He added that the coaching staffs have named a starting lineup that has what it takes to deliver the results rugby fans have been longing for.
And Coach Iliesa Tanivula has also come under a lot of scrutiny in past IRB 7's tournaments.
Happy Valley brought his joy in 2009 and with a star studded team he has it has already been the talking point in the city of 7 million populations.
Tanivula said that the Hong Kong 7's title is what Fiji needs to be in the race again for the IRB 7's series overall title.
The starting line-up to take on Malaysia at 9.14pm in the forwards, Dale Tonawai, Setefano Cakau and Jerry Burotu.
Nikola Matawalu will be at half back, Miti Nacagilevu at playmaker, Joeli Lutumailagi at rover and Osea Kolinisau on the wing.
Fiji takes on Malayasia tonight at 9.14pm in their opening pool game.
