PM and govt officials distribute relief packages to villages in Bua

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama together with government officials distributed relief packages to the villagers in Nabuinikadamu, Navakasali and Cogea in Bua.

Bainimarama commended the villagers for their resilience and has given assurance that government will assist affected families.

He says he is adamant that as Fijians we will help each other to rebuild.

Cogea village headman Akini Nairibuli says it has been a difficult time for them especially for those families that have lost their homes.

Initial damage assessments continues in the Northern Division with members of the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces also providing assistance to relevant agencies with the distribution of relief packages.
