Travelling many kilometres to go and watch the Fiji 7s team play will no longer be the case for more than 800 villagers in Taveuni as they are getting free to air television services for the first time with the launch of the Walesi Digital Television today.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama launched the Walesi Digital Television in the villages of Korovou, Naselesele and Lamini yesterday afternoon.

Nakota says not all the villagers could afford Sky Pacific and they could not get any free to air service so they travelled to Somosomo village to watch rugby.

Travelling by bus from Naselesele Village to Somosomo would take around 30 minutes.

$8 million has been allocated in the 2017/2018 National Budget to continue with the Digital Television Rollout.
