Over 3,000 people in Nabouwalu now have access to clean and safe water as a new water treatment plant has been successful commissioning.

This facility processes 2 million litres of water daily and includes a 1 million-litre reservoir, essential pipeworks, electrical systems, and backup generators.

Water Authority of Fiji's Acting Chief Infrastructure Delivery Officer Jone Vunidaiga says the new system is designed to handle high turbidity levels to ensure a continuous supply of clean water even during storms and heavy rain.

He says that the plant’s advanced automation technology will keep operational costs low by optimizing energy and chemical usage.

Vunidaiga further says WAF Executive Management has inspected the facility and confirmed it is ready to enhance the quality of life for the people.
