A raid conducted by officers from Valelevu has resulted in the seizure of more than 1kg of methamphetamine.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro says the substance has since been analyzed and confirmed to be methamphetamine.
Naisoro says working off a tip received about the 36-year-old man’s alleged involvement in drug-related activities, a raid was conducted yesterday morning by officers from Valelevu where a plastic bag containing the substance was found in his home.
The man has been charged with one count of being in possession of illicit drugs and will be produced in the Nasinu Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Police say the assistance and willingness shown by members of the community in providing information is greatly appreciated and they urge others who have information of those involved in drug-related activities to call their respective Command centres or Crime Stoppers on 919.
