Opposition still misleading people regarding iTaukei land - PM
Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama while opening the Buca Bay Road in the Northern division.

Not a single inch of i-Taukei land has been lost under the Bainimarama led government prior to the election, under the constitution or under the FijiFirst Government

This has been stressed by Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama while opening the Buca Bay Road in the Northern division.

Bainimarama says the opposition is misleading people about iTaukei land although this is well protected in the constitution.

Bainimarama also says that the government is focused on ensuring that developments are carried out for everyone, not for just the elite.

He thanked the Exim Bank of China for providing Fiji with the loans needed to complete the Buca Bay project. More than 73 million dollars was needed for the final stage of the road project on top of the more than 40 million dollars for stage one.

Bainimarama says this is a great day for the nation, the Northern Division and especially the people of Cakaudrove as it is one of the biggest infrastructure projects ever undertaken in the North.

The first 10 kilometres of the new sealed road from Nagigi to Naqere was opened in September last year while the 20 kilometre section from Naqere to Kasavu was opened today.

The Prime Minister says it is a wonderful moment in the lives of the many thousands of people who will benefit from this  dramatically upgraded link with the outside world.

People from the villages of Matuku-nea, Droni-luku, Naweni, Tacilevu, Vale-vagi and Viani Bay and the settlements of Vunibau, Nalulu, Loboivu, Natuvu, Waisere, Vunilagi and Kasavu will benefit from this major project.

Meanwhile we have sent questions to Opposition Leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa and Opposition spokesperson, Mick Beddoes on the comments made about SODELPA by the Prime Minister.

SODELPA is yet to comment.
