Speaker Ratu Epeli Nailatikau and Opposition Leader Sitiveni Rabuka

Speaker Ratu Epeli Nailatikau stressed to Opposition Leader Sitiveni Rabuka that parliament is a workplace and the opposition MPs should have been in parliament in the first place.

Parliament started with Rabuka standing up on the issue of mass gatherings as he said that some people have been arrested for gatherings of more than 20 people.

He said that he wanted a ruling from the Speaker before the opposition MPs come into parliament.

Ratu Epeli said that the mass gathering ban does not apply as they are at a workplace.
