The old False Start Rule will stay in this year's Coca Cola Games.
The Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics Association decided in the Technical Officials meeting today that the international rule of No False Start will not be implemented this year.
Secondary Schools Athletics Association General Secretary, Vuli Waqa said although he tried his best to implement the new rules from tomorrow, the Technical Officials decided against it.
Waqa said he does not know now, when the new rules will kick in.
Meanwhile Oceania Athletics Official Ivonne Mullins who is back to help the Coca Cola Games officials said the new rule should have been implemented.
Mullins said the schools must show their support to the new rule and try to implement it as soon as possible.
Meanwhile it was also decided that the relay team can now have six registered runners instead of four.
Earlier it was said that only four will be allowed to run in relays and they cannot have 2 athletes as reserves.
The question was raised by ACS's head coach Komera Tuicakau that six athletes to be registered for the relay and officials can use any four runners from the six.
When the decision was passed that six can now be registered, Tuicakau was very happy.
The Coca Cola Games will start tomorrow at the tfl National Stadium.
