Following a video circulating on social media regarding the conduct of the officers while handling a juvenile, the Fiji Police Force has clarified that the officers did not abuse the child seen in the video.

Police says the child was found begging in Suva City and was told to leave when he swore at them. They say the officers informed him that he will be taken to the Totogo Police Station where Social Welfare and his parents will be contacted.

The child then started to scream and refused to cooperate with the officers. Police have confirmed that the officers were conducting their duties to ensure that no one is loitering after hours.
