The Oceania Football Confederation has apologised for a post that appeared on their social media page after the Solomon Island's loss to Fiji in the Women’s Nations Cup semi-final.

It says the use of a particular emoji was not intended to offend, but to convey the feeling of excitement after what had been a very competitive game.

The OFC says they acknowledge the statement made by Solomon Islands Football Federation and are sorry.

The Digicel Fiji Kulas will take on PNG in the Cup final at 7pm tomorrow at the HFC Bank Stadium.
