A number of people have come forward to assist a group of parents who have been providing meals for the needy children of Saint Thomas Primary School in Lautoka since March.

The group have been providing meals since Term 2 and intend to continue in Term 3 but are facing financial difficulties as they themselves have either lost their jobs, are on reduced hours or reduced rates.

After hearing about their struggles on Fijivillage, three people have offered to buy groceries to provide meals for students while more people are contacting the group on how they can help.

Vika Leger who runs a canteen at the school says they were providing 30 meals a day in Term 2 but have been advised by teachers that around 82 students will need assistance in Term 3.

Leger says they intend to provide meals for the whole of Term 3 and is urging people to come forward and assist them in either cash or kind.

You can contact Vika Leger on 8430-982 if you want to help the group in assisting the students of Saint Thomas Primary.
