Morgan Gibbs-White scored an 82nd-minute winner as Nottingham Forest recorded their first English Premier League victory over Manchester United in 29 years to bring 2023 to a miserable end for Erik ten Hag's side.

Nottingham beat United 2-1 after a nil all tie at half time.

Nicolas Dominguez scored the first goal in the match in the 64th minute and Marcus Rashford equalised 12 minutes from full time but Gibbs-White sealed the win for Nottingham in the 82nd minute.

It was United's 14th defeat of a dreadful campaign, their most before the end of a year since 1930-31.

This loss means United have been beaten four times in December alone and could end this round of matches in ninth spot, just three points in front of Chelsea.

In another match this morning, Manchester City beat Sheffield United 2-0 to move within two points of League leaders Liverpool.

Rodri and Julian Alvarez scored a goal each.

Meanwhile, Chelsea beat Luton 3-2, Aston Villa beat Burnley 3-2, Crystal Palace beat Brentford 3-1 while Wolves beat Everton 3-0.

Liverpool leads the table with 42 points, Aston Villa also with 42 points is second, Manchester City on third place has 40 points while Arsenal also with 40 points rounds up the top 4.
