Not taking opportunities cost the Drua – Byrne

Not taking opportunities cost the Drua – Byrne

Swire Shipping Fijian Drua coach Mick Byrne says not taking opportunities when they had them, cost them the game against a good Auckland Blues side.

The Drua lost 30-14 to the Blues.

Byrne says the Blues respected the Drua by bringing their best.

He says the Drua probably made the first 4 line breaks in the game but they did not capitalise.

Byrne says the Blues is a good side and if they get the opportunity to breach them and get behind them, then they need to score.

He says they did not take them on probably 4 occasions in the first-half.

Byrne says the second half was just a battle and they needed to be better when the game was on the line.

The Drua will take on the Hurricanes at 2.05pm at the HFC Bank Stadium on Saturday.

Meanwhile, in matches last night, the Chiefs beat the Crusaders 34-24, the Rebels beat Moana Pasifika 43-33, and the Reds beat the Force 31-17.
