Non-functional fans in Health facilities to be replaced soon – Dr Lalabalavu

Non-functional fans in Health facilities to be replaced soon – Dr Lalabalavu

The Ministry of Health will be replacing non-functional fans in public health facilities as soon as possible, following concerns about ventilation and patient comfort in overcrowded medical centres.

Minister for Health Dr Ratu Atonio Lalabalavu told fijivillage News that replacements will be a priority.

The Minister says they will look into the non-functional fans and have replacements installed as soon as possible.

He says overcrowded conditions in health facilities, combined with Fiji’s warm climate, have raised concerns about patient comfort, particularly in waiting areas.

He further says that while the Ministry is working to maintain healthcare standards during the flu season, it also faces ongoing challenges such as staffing shortages and infrastructure issues in facilities like Valelevu Health Centre.

The Minister says the Ministry is balancing urgent repairs with ensuring that healthcare services remain uninterrupted.
