Residents in the greater Suva, Raiwaqa, Kinoya, Laucala Beach, Cunningham, Valelevu and Caubati areas currently have no water due to a burst main.
This has been confirmed by concerned residents who said they have had no water since 1 this morning and it will now be a hard task to get ready for work and school.
Works Department Central/Eastern spokesperson Maika Nagalu said their engineers are currently trying to fix the problem.
Meanwhile, Interim Works Minister Timoci Natuva said old pipes must be replaced to ensure water disruptions are a thing of the past.
Natuva said most of the pipes still being used have been in place since World War Two and that is why consumers will continue to receive water disruptions adding the replacement of pipes will take a couple more years.
