Concerns are being raised as there was no water at the CWM Hospital Maternity Ward this morning due to internal maintenance works.

We have been told that this affected services to be provided to the mothers.

Other concerns that are being raised are to do with the upkeep of the Maternity Ward at the hospital after the upgrades done by International Women’s Association (Fiji).

They say that the shower curtains for bathrooms and toilet doors are already missing.

Patients have said that the toilets that the mothers use are unhygienic and the sanitary bins are full.

There is an OHS issue in the Morrison Ward where a ceiling fan is barely hanging on the ceiling by the wires.

We reached out to the Ministry of Health for an urgent response on these critical matters.

Minister for Health, Doctor Ratu Atonio Lalabalavu says the issue has been brought to his attention and he is told that it is a Water Authority of Fiji issue.

He says they have backup water supply and they are awaiting refilling from WAF to supply and replenish water storage.
