The influence of social issues in our community has resulted in an increasing number of youths becoming involved in drugs.

This has been highlighted by President, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, during the opening of the Naitasiri Provincial Council Meeting in Tamavua Village.

Ratu Wiliame says the Vanua needs to work together with the youth and the community to control the widespread social issues affecting our society.

He says cultural values and manners need to be strengthened within families and the Vanua so that children learn to respect the elders in the community.

The President has reminded the Province of Naitasiri that young people who have left school should be encouraged to attend technical schools so they can overcome social issues and contribute to the development of the community.

The Naitasiri Province has 91 villages and 16 districts.
